14 JUN - Planning (Day 7)
I can't believe that we are finishing our first week here already. It seems like it has only been 3 days already. Well, on Friday, it has seemed liked 2 days and then on Saturday it felt like 2.25 days. Anyway.
We have done NOTHING today. The only excitement was when I went to the store to get some supplies and then parked the SUV on a different block because today is street cleaning day. Hooooo-EEEEEE!
Tonight we are going to the Fan Plaza here in Weimar to watch the 9PM game, Germany v Poland. It should be a good one.
Tomorrow, we are planning on going to Rothenburg. There is a museum of Medieval torture devices. In addition, it is one of the only cities that still has its city wall intact.
I took some photos of our neighborhood and our apartment so you can how that we are stylin' and profilin' in Germany.
Here is the house where we are staying. The owners live on the first floor. There is someone living on the second floor. Rocco and I are on the third floor rightfully named by the owners as "Vacation Apartment".

Here is a pic down our street. It's very nice although at nights when the big trucks go by, the whole building shakes.

This is a pic of the main hall in the apartment. All of the rooms except the solarium are off of this hall.

Here is my bedroom. Like normal my suitcase explodes when I land.

Here is the toilette. I think it was a small closet before. It's a tight squeeeeeeze for us two big Americans.

Here is the shower room. The shower is a little tight but it is a nice sized room.

Here is the kitchen. We won't be using it much. It has a dorm sized fridge which is typically German. There is also a gas stove which you start with a match. I love fire as much as the next person, maybe more, but fire and gas are a dangerous combination.

Here is Rocco's room. He let me have the bigger bed in the smaller room. I think because he has more stuff.

Here is the solarium. With the weather the past couple of days in the 90s, we don't venture in here too much.

There is a very nice garden behind our apartment. I'll probably look at it a lot when I'm in the apartment.

Finally, here is the living room where the television is.

Here is what we'll be doing while we are in the apartment. Rocco and I will be updating the blog and watching the games.

The apartment has all hard wood floors. It has also been decorated with a lot of programs and other stuff from the arts. Perhaps the owners are big fans of theater and German writers. Two well known German artists are from Weimar, Goethe and Schiller.
